Welcome to LCMS!
We would like to welcome you to Lake City Middle School, a school built with traditions and hard work. At our school, we recognize students for their hard work, effort and positive attitudes. We do this in many ways through a “Laker Leaders” Incentive Program, Students of the Week, Shout-outs from Teachers during announcements, and more. We share these recognitions also through our social media sites as well as on our newly updated website (right here). We also want to contact you to praise or work out any academic/behavioral issues that may arise. In doing this, we want to have a great working relationship to support each child’s learning and academic success.

ACS Board of Education Voted to Eliminate School Supply Cost to Parents
The Anderson County School District is excited to announce that our Board of Education voted to give every school $40 per student to eliminate the cost to parents for school supplies for this year. This year parents will not need to purchase the usual start of the school year supplies. They will be provided. With the rising cost of food, gas, and other products caused by inflation, we hope Ethat this initiative will help families in our community. If an individual or business would like to donate to help our students, please contact The Education Foundation for Clinton City and Anderson County Schools the education foundation facebook page - Or donate at the Foundation's Stuff the Bus event on Friday, July 29, and Sat, July 30 at Wal-Mart in Clinton. Customers can come by from 2-7 PM on the 29th & 9-4PM on the 30th to purchase and donate supplies during Tennessee’s Tax-Free Weekend.
ATSI Official Letter
Dear Parents or Guardians,
Each year, the Tennessee Department of Education reviews school performance across several indicators to better understand how schools are serving the needs of all students. These indicators include:
- Student achievement
- Student growth
- English Learner proficiency (ELPA)
- Chronic absenteeism
Under the federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), the Tennessee Department of Education is required to use these accountability results to identify schools with lower performance among specific student groups (such as racial/ethnic groups, students with disabilities, economically disadvantaged students, and English learners). Schools identified receive additional supports to help improve student outcomes.
We are writing to inform you that Lake City Middle School has been identified as both a TSI (Targeted Support and Improvement) and ATSI (Additional Targeted Support and Improvement) school for the 2025–2026 school year. This federal designation will remain in place until a new designation list is released by the Tennessee Department of Education.
Our school is working closely with the district and the Tennessee Department of Education to improve student performance by fostering a positive school climate and maintaining high expectations for learning. We ask for your continued support by encouraging your student to attend school daily, complete all assignments with their best effort, and maintain a positive attitude toward learning.
Thank you for partnering with us to support your child’s success.
Sincerely,
Courtney Batchelor
Principal
Lake City Middle School
